Is there a restaurant guide site that has more info on the restaurants? Most don't do anything for me and I spend hours going through pages with tons of popups.|||use yelp|||there's ZAGAT.|||there is a restaurant in japan town in the Radison hotel called the one they have really good food I have to say it's one of the best we have been to|||Try Zagat, Yelp or food digger or

Good luck|||Especially for nicer places, try www.opentable.com. Has good information and lets you make online reservations.|||Here are a few that I have used that haven鈥檛 been mentioned yet;
I like Jatbar they write good reviews, that I鈥檝e found to be very accurate.
Chow Hound has reviews and message boards about restaurants from SF bay and other major cities.

Or there is Check Please Bay Area, you can read or watch the reviews (posted on youtube)
http://blogs.kqed.org/food/|||TWO OPTIONS I've used
ONE
go to "onlyinsanfrancisco.com" and be sure NOT to clink on the link that takes you to the store at Pier 39
Go to "places to eat"
You can choose neighborhoods, cuisines, price ranges, etc.
My wife found some great places that way when we planned our trip out there this past December.
They don't have all of them, mostly sponsored, but you can get the main idea of what is out there.
TWO
OR yellowpages.com and find restaurants by category in local San Fran pages. Some with reviews.|||If you are serious about checking out restaurants and real feedback, go to Zagat. You have to pay for a subscription but it is a great source of good info. You can search by food, French, Mexican, etc. Or neighborhood. You can also use the Michelin Guide. There is a SF edition also.
http://www.zagat.com/sanfrancisco|||i use menuism.com

http://www.menuism.com

it allows you to read user reviews, search by cuisine, neighborhood, etc., and i've found it to be a very accessible and warm community.
