I'm an American going to Paris for the first time. Too often, restaurant guides tend to emphasize the ultra-luxurious and exotic rather than simple meals done well. I would appreaciate any suggestions .|||Don't be concerned. Almost any cafe or bistro will have simple "cuisine bourgeois"
Despite the impression given by some guidebooks not everyone in Paris is constantly eating in Michelin 3 star restaurants and chowing down exotic food laden with truffles and caviar.

http://www.lozere-a-paris.com/|||Why you don't try a "French Creperie" rue Mouffetard. You can order anything you want.|||There are several places along Rue St. Michel in the Latin Quarter (just south of Notre Dame) that offer simple fare-- French, Italian, etc.
