There is no standardized process of licensing for bartenders. Many towns, cities, countries require no license at all. If there is a license requirement it is most often only a simple registration with the local police, sheriff or health department. The fees run in the five to fifty dollar range. It is usually require a proof of employment and often a separate fee will have to be paid for each different establishment.|||You don't need a license to tend bar. If the place also sells food, there has to be a person who is in a supervisory position who has a food service sanitation license. That's about it. Some towns have regulations aimed at trying to close down all the taverns and so may have some sort of a city file on employees of each establishment that serves liquor.
