This is what is scheduled on July 3rd on Navy Pier's website. Looking to visit at that time, but I don't know what that means exactly. Thanks a lot.
http://www.navypier.com/SubLink.cfm?Main鈥?/a>|||Every year Chicago has "The Taste of Chicago" where several restraunts throughout the city set up booths and people can eat Mexican food in one booth and right next door you can have Egg Roles and Shrimp Fried Rice. They have music (last year Melissa Etheridge put on a free concert) and Navy pier has an awesome ferris wheel and other activities. The Taste lasts through July 4th and the second to last night they have an great fireworks display. It's fun but crowded. Stay downtown and take public transportation. Chicago is not a city you need to rent a car in. Take a Cab or the may CTA trains and Metra trains available. Navy pier is right on the lake so you have great views of the city and the water. Have fun and enjoy all the food!!!!|||Just another type of fireworks show|||Navy Pier usually has their own fireworks show on the other dates. The one you see listed on July 3rd is what you'll see there given by the city of Chicago, usually with the Grant Park Orchestra playing along. Chicago has always done the celebration on the 3rd.
If you decide to go, just be very careful, keep an eye on your wallets. Since it's kind of hard to keep an eye on them when you got your head tilted back looking at the fireworks!! It's a great show, especially with the music. It gets pretty crowded. So, get there early, find a spot, lay out a blanket and STAY THERE!!!
