I want to work in a pub in Calgary, Alberta, and i am wondering whether or not i need to have a bartending license to serve mainly beer and other drinks?

Thanks|||do you have any pictures allie? please send to death.iscertain@yahoo.com|||In the US, each state has it's own alcohol service license that anyone who serves alcohol must get: bartenders, cocktail servers, cashiers at liquer stores. It's a four hour course and a test, but luckily it only costs $25 - 40 depending on the state. It's not bartending school, but more like laws. Unfortunately I don't about Calgary. |||No but you will have to get what is called an ASIP certificate. Some bars/pubs/liquor stores etc will pay for their employees to take the test (or they used to). If not, you'll have to take it yourself, though i think it's only 25 bucks. You can take it online, pass a pretty easy test, and they'll send you a little card. Trust me, lots of employers working with booze will be looking for you to have that card, and it will make your life easier having one

Go to the website and look around...the one you would want is 'accelerated learning at $25 online'...you can take the test within 60 days.
Good luck!
