Just so you know, its not really "bartending school" and its not a "bartending license" Its just a class you take to get your certification so that you can sell alcohol legally in your state. I think the website says it costs $15 dollars to take the class. They don't teach you how to make drinks in this class. The class is all about state alcohol laws, rules and regulations that you need to know as an employee in a restaurant. This is the only requirement you need to have in order to serve alcohol in Nevada. You are not required to have a "bartender's license".
Bartending school is something different. Bartending schools teach you how to make drinks. Personally, I think these school are a waste of money. They don't teach you anything that a good drink dictionary couldn't teach you. You can pick up a drink dictionary from a used bookstore for $1.50. Save your money and stay away from these schools. These schools are considered to be a "sham" in the hospitality industry and they are not well respected. The only thing these schools provide is to swindle you out of your money.|||i agree with Betty. i am a bartender and the general response you get from people in the service industry when you go to bartending school is "you just wasted your money" no one takes those places seriously.
