The best way to learn to be a bartender is hands on training, Become a barback first, You'll get paid, And you'll learn the different mixes, Good luck....|||You don't mention what country in which you life. Here in the U.S. most places do not require a license to tend bar.|||there's no such thing as a "bartender license." im assuming you mean to go to bartending school, dont bother. bartending school is good for someone who is already a bartender to learn flair and tricks, but not for someone trying to use is as an entrance into the business. anyplace that's decent wont hire a bartender who hasn't had experience working in a high volume restaurant/club before. if you're still intent on going to bartending school, check your local better business bureau before you fork over lots of cash on a school|||Honestly, in the US... unless you plan on working for a major corporate operation, you might consider barbacking first. I know lots and lots of bartenders/owners in NY and LA and no one hires people out of bar school. It doesn't really teach you the most important thing after mixing... bar-side manner. You'll learn that working in a bar.

Maybe you need a license where you are......???
